We Are Back!

Time has certainly passed since the last post. Life has flown by and the children have grown and matured, well mostly grown. We stand on the ledge again and await the another shift in our family dynamics. MacK heads back to BYU-I next week and we resume life as a family of three again. In some ways the summer has flown  by and in others it has crept at a snail's pace.

Matthew and I can see the pin light at the end of the tunnel. In a few short years, Ashton will finish high school and we will find ourselves as empty nesters. The thought of free time and no more weekends filled with sports events for the kids is definitely appealing. We are creating our "to do" list already.

The kids were enjoying some chalk out in the backyard when things got a bit messy.

I think the transition may be most difficult for Ashton because he did not and does not want to be an only child. He loves the commotion in the house and the constant buzz that is accompanied by numerous teenagers running around. While he has majored in annoying his sister, he loathes the silence brought about by her absence.

We are thankful for our jobs, our health, our home and our family. I am personally looking forward to cooler weather and finding adventure right in our own small corner of the world. I will create house projects and yard work, attend football games and cheer for Ashton even louder than normal. Afterall, you only get one shot at this life so might as well make it interesting.

So enjoy a few of our more recent favorite pics and settle in for some fun. Good luck at school Mack!
