The Adventure of a Lifetime

The trip has concluded and we have finally finished the last load of laundry and cleaned out the RV. The children snuggled into their own beds for the first time in over a month and I was so happy to take a shower without wearing flip flops. To quote a famous young girl, "there's no place like home, there's no place like home." What I did discover on this journey is that home is where you make it. Whether we were in the middle of Montpieler, Idaho or  Pahrump, Nevada or Calsbad, New Mexico we were home. Home was where we made it for the night. It was where we carry our heart. Yes, there were times I wanted to push a couple of people off the side of the mountain and have a nice trip just me and my honey. I did, however,  resist that urge and pushed through the pain. (Much like childbirth)

I am not sure we discovered anything earth moving about ourselves or had any epiphanies, however, we did find an increased love for this wonderful country we call home. The grand USA! There is no other country where you can experience such diverse topography or see such marvels of nature in one nation. As we approach a new season and contemplate the state of our country, try to put yourself in the mindset of Francis Bellamy when he so aptly wrote, "one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all."   Although the "under God" part was added later its application is apparently necessary in this age. This country is a gift, a blessing and has come at a high price paid by those who have come before us and those who continue to fight on our behalf today. I am so grateful for those sacrifices.

We did find aliens

Proof that they got along at times

This would have been the time to jump in the RV and drive away quickly. They were being good that day so we waited for them.

This country we call home is beautiful, majestic and grand. If you have not taken the time to travel beyond your own state borders I challenge you to do so. Explore, experience and take the deep breath of adventure. She is beautiful. You may just find yourself in love with this country as much as we are. And once you come home, you will appreciate it more than you ever thought you would.
The journey was incredible, the company was good for the most part. The views, well, they were breath taking and pictures just don't do them justice. I can rest a little more peacefully knowing I checked one more item off my bucket list. Unfortunately, the trip just helped me add a few more to it also. Until our next adventure. Happy trails (not trials) to you.
